Welcome to The New StevePayne.com!

Welcome to the new StevePayne.com! Starting now, this site isn’t just about me and my photography, it’s also about you, that is if you LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY like I do!

It seems that the time is right, and it consolidates a lot of other things, including publishing a newsletter, that I’ve found increasingly difficult to do in the last few years. It’s a place I can post thoughts, specials, new images, photo tips, recommendations, you name it. I will not be posting the contents of all of my sessions here, as I’ve seen a lot of photographers do. That’s not a comment as to good or bad of that practice, it’s just not what I want to do with this. I do want to post what I’m up to in a more general way, let you know about cool new cameras, trends and happenings in the world of photography, and in just stay in touch.

Photography and the photography business, have been my life for over 25 years. During that time I’ve watched photography technology evolve, and  I have been on the forefront of the digital revolution. I’ve struggled and I’ve thrived in the business. I’ve worked in many different areas, from corporate/advertising, to fine art landscape, as well as, children’s, senior and family portraits. I’ve had studios big and small, in fact I just built a brand new one that I call The Garden Studio, since it’s surrounded by my garden.

Through all the years and changes, both in me and photography, my love for it has never faltered. In fact with the advent of the camera phone, it’s become a constant companion, instead of something that I have to plan for and drag out a lot of gear.

Photography always been somewhat of an escape for me. Something that I could get totally lost in…a form of visual meditation. Having that possibility with me most all of the time with my iPhone, is something that honestly I’m still getting used to. It’s just really amazing the photography that one can now do with a phone. So I’ll be keeping you posted on all the things that I find interesting about the world of iPhonography and try to make you a better iPhonographer at the same time.

The business of photography, in fact any small creative business, is also one of my favorite things to talk about and get better at. Over the years, I’ve studied with the best, in both the areas of the photo biz and business in general. If you’re serious about making photography your life, I can help. Making a living from photography can chew you up and spit you out, if you let it. I almost let it do that to me several times, but finally learned my lessons and now have a much more balanced life, which in the end is the most important thing. If you want to learn from my mistakes and take your business to a new level of enjoyment and profitability, my “Think Like A Successful Photographer – Surviving & Thriving in The Digital Revolution” course is for you.
