The Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song the morning after attending a Fat Tuesday party at Charly and Rhoda Hamilton's house a few years ago. I was the fortunate one to get Charly's baby Jesus work of art. I hope you enjoy it! (West Side Mural art by Charly Jupiter Hamilton)
WHAT IS A KING CAKE?
The king cake is a mixture of a French pastry and a coffee cake. Its oval shape and festive colors give it a unique appeal. The original version features the royal colors of gold, purple, and green. Gold represents power, purple represents justice, and green signifies faith. The shape of the cake symbolizes the unity of faith.
